The Littlehampton Academy is a large secondary school in Sussex. They required a new content managed website and a formally organised intranet to replace the jumble of files that had assembled themselves over the years into an ad-hoc intranet. Working with designer Julia Brown, Sqoo provided a bespoke system to run their school's online systems.
The web site has a range of features includingan online prospectus, a letters home section, newsletters, activity showcases, news and event and job vacancy listings. All content is managed by the SqooDriver CMS.
The intranet has three sections managed by access data provided from the SIMS system, one each for students, staff and governors. Each is organised according to the needs of the user. The site is integrated with School Planner Book site to provide students and staff with their online homework diaries from within the intranet site.
Both sites are served from within the school network. the Intranet is only accessible outside of school through Citrix which enables files and software to be distriuted to and used by pupils and staff as if they were within school.
