SqooDriver Walkthrough

  • This slideshow demonstrates how SqooDriver is used to manage a simple website.

  • The editing is done on line, the editor accesses a web page, logs in and is then presented with the Driver editor.
  • The lower left-hand panel is the navigation ...
  • ... notice how this mirrors the structure of the site itself.
  • The lower right-hand panel is for editing contents ...

  • ... here is an example of how the content looks in the editor and on a webpage.

  • The formatting controls should be familiar to anyone who has used a word processor.

  • Other functions are performed using the button bar.

  • To create a page, press the 'New' button.

  • A window will pop up, enter a title.
  • A choice of different page types will be shown for selection where available.

  • Click 'Create', the new page is shown in the navigation.
  • Having clicked on the title in the navigation, we are now on the new page ready to add content. This page is not live on the site until we publish it.
  • Here some text has been entered and the 'Save' button is then pressed.

  • Clicking the 'Preview' button will bring up a browser window which shows the page as it will look like when published.

  • Publishing will put the page live. Further edits can then be made and previewed, these will not go live until 'Publish' is pressed again.
  • Now we will upload an image and put it on the page. First click the upload button ...

  • ... a pop up window will be displayed.

From here we can select an image and put it into a specified folder.
  • Clicking on the browser button allows you to use the same file picker as you are used to using from your operating system to select the image from your computer.
  • Clicking on the 'Images' button brings up the image browser.

  • Once uploaded, the image will be automatically resized to a selection of sizes suitable for your site's design. Select the image and size you wish and the image will be inserted at the position of the cursor. Simple!

  • Here is the image inserted into the content. Files such as Word documents, PDF files etc. can be uploaded and links inserted in a similar fashion using the 'Files' button.

  • Clicking 'Save' and then 'Publish' and it's live on the site! This is a very simple site, however these steps are the same for managing a much more complex site. From this demo, you will intuitively be able to do the tasks required to manage news lists, FAQ pages, galleries, message boards, blogs and anything else that a site requires!
